Our Team
Dr. Diana Alarcon
Dr. Alarcon grew up in Colombia and graduated from La Salle University. Before moving to Canada she received additional training in Primary Eye Care from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She participated in the University of Waterloo’s International Optometric Bridging Program (IOBP), which helps optometrist educated outside Canada and the United States prepare for the Canadian Standard Assessment in Optometry. Dr. Alarcon has been practicing in the Maple area since 2005; has a passion to work with kids specially in the Binocular Vision field to help them excel on their school performance.
Dr. Alarcon is married and has two boys . She enjoys volunteering at her son’s school and spending time with her kids.
Dr. Alice Tam
Dr. Alice Tam has been proudly serving the Vaughan area since 2006. She is a friendly and family-oriented optometrist and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She is passionate about giving a comprehensive eye examination and continually attends optometry seminars to provide her patients with the most up-to-date eye care.
Dr. Tam graduated from the University of Waterloo: School of Optometry, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the College of Optometrist of Ontario. She is currently in training to become a College Coach to her fellow colleagues.
During her internship training, Dr. Tam travelled to Pinellas Park, Florida where she gained invaluable experience by working alongside a variety of different ophthalmologists that are specialists in the areas of the Cornea, Retina, Cataracts, and Glaucoma. Dr. Tam has also worked at a research facility, examining and testing out new therapies for dry eye treatment.
As a previous contact lens wearer herself (soft contacts, RGPs, and ortho-K), Dr. Tam has a special interest in fitting contact lenses and myopic control. She attended The Vision Care Institute, in Jacksonville, FL, and completed the specialized contact lens fitting program. Dr. Tam has also undergone laser eye surgery (LASIK and PRK in each eye) and enjoys caring for her pre- and post-operative refractive surgery patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Tam enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and working out. Dr. Tam can also speak conversational Cantonese.
Dr. Niloufar Ahmadpour
Dr. Niloufar Ahmadpour received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto and her Master of Optometry degree with first-class honours from Aston University, UK. She continued her training through internship at a practice in Truro, UK and at the NHS Royal Cornwall hospital, Treliske. Her training involved many specialized areas including ocular disease, low vision, binocular vision, pediatrics, contact lenses, diabetic retinopathy, neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma.
Dr. Ahmadpour has worked in an Ophthalmologist office in Toronto focusing on cataract and refractive eye surgery. She then underwent further education and training in Vision Therapy through the Optometric Extension Program where she practiced as a Vision Therapist in North Vancouver, BC. She travelled to Baltimore, Maryland and Winnipeg, Manitoba to focus on visual dysfunctions, strabismus and amblyopia. She enjoys treating a wide range of binocular vision dysfunctions, helping children with learning related visual problems and providing therapeutic management of traumatic brain injury patients.
Dr. Ahmadpour is passionate about all areas related to ocular health and binocular vision and is devoted to learning and staying current with the latest research in eye care. She loves travelling, health and fitness, music and painting.
Dr. Ahmadpour is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), College of Optometrists of Ontario (COO), Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA) and Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation (COVTR).
Marina, Manager Optician
Marina has been working in the industry for the past 13 years. She graduated from Seneca College in 2008.
Marina loves to work with people by helping them find best optical solutions. She bring a lot of experience working with different brands of frames and lenses.
Sarah
Sarah, who has recently moved to Toronto from the UK, is currently a student optician in Canada while she completes her education at the NAIT to attain her qualification. She has worked for over 5 years in the UK as a dispensing optician and studied Ophthalmic Dispensing at City and Islington College in London. She was a member of the General Optical Council and Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).
Hala
Hala has been employed in the optical industry since 2007. She has exceptional expertise in all aspects of the office and works closely with the doctors and other staff. She’s incredibly passionate about serving her patients and ensuring all their needs are fulfilled.
